4-9-14: Day 10 – Cardio Power & Resistance

Today’s Workout: Cardio Power & Resistance

Breakfast

 Frosted mini wheats with 2% milk

Snacks

 Banana, Apple, handful of almonds, KIND Bar

Lunch

 Red beans and brown rice w/chicken (bonus leftovers!)

Dinner

 Sweet Potato & Black Bean Tacos, Tortilla Chips & Salsa

 

First – holy shit. I didn’t exactly fall off the wagon that hard yesterday, but after enjoying probably the most consistent week of my life as far as weight goes, to wake up this morning and be weighing 1.8 pounds more than I did yesterday was one helluva shock. I am not going to go back and edit yesterday’s post to reflect what I actually ate for dinner last night, but I will lay out the damage here for all to see.

I had scheduled that post in anticipation of what I would end up eating, knowing that I didn’t have a work out scheduled anyway, and not wanting to make a post late last night when I could be sleeping.  Well, dear readers, let me tell you that I ate a bit more than a bratwurst, chips and a beer.

Here’s the damage

  • 1 gyro (lamb & beef)
  • 1 order fries
  • 1 diet coke
  • 1 beer
  • 1 rye and coke
  • some amount of jalapeno chips
  • 1 small box cracker jacks
  • some amount of peanuts

So, as you can see, I was busy, and I paid for it today, both in weight gain and a bit of a food binge hangover. Was it worth it? Hard to say, sure wish I had another gyro though 🙂

Oh, the workout, still hate high knees, they kill my quads like nobody’s business, I’m probably doing the wrong. Actually did a good number of moving pushups today, so that was what I will claim as my victory.

4-8-14: Day 9 – Rest…again?

Today’s Workout: 12oz Curls

Breakfast

 Frosted mini wheats with 2% milk

Snacks

 Banana, Apple, handful of almonds

Lunch

 Red beans and brown rice

Dinner

 Chips, sausage on a bun

Now, the moment that everyone has been waiting for…the graph of my weight over time!  Down 3 pounds total from the day of the fit test. Interesting trend of sitting steady at a weight for a few days, then dropping down lower sort of suddenly.

4-7-14: Day 8 – Plyometric Cardio Circuit

Weight: 181.4

Today’s Workout: Disc for day 6 – Plyometric Cardio Circuit

Breakfast

Shredded mini wheats with milk

Snacks

Banana, apple

Lunch

Roasted chicken and potatoes

Dinner

Red beans and rice with andouille sausage

 

Another day, another weigh in at 181.4. Wish that I had taken a previous measurement of my waistline, because I am down a notch on my belt.  I also feel like my shoulders and posture look better as well.  Definitely no six pack abs yet, but the spare tire is slightly smaller…I think.

This disc is the one that I dreaded doing again.  I can’t make it all the way through without stopping and my quads are screaming for probably 35 of the 40 minutes. Not sure what it is, but my quads just aren’t bringing it.  Also, I feel extremely uncoordinated when I try to do the Mt Climbers, not sure if I’m in the only one in that boat, but it makes me glad that no on else can see me attempt them.

Off day for me tomorrow, as I have an after work obligation. Off day means a fancy new graph of my weight progress. WOohoo!
